Purpose of the Job

Maintain and update the SAS Safety Compliance & Security Policies and Procedures through oversight implementation of safety & security practices in order to promote operational awareness, minimize losses and mitigate risks.  

Job Responsibilities

1. Monitor, evaluate, inspect and assess SAS ground operations safety and security deficiencies to ensure their effectiveness against SAS Safety and Security management systems. 
2.    Identify hazards, assess security threats and safety risks in order to recommend preventive/corrective actions and counter measures in compliance with international and local Civil Aviation requirements and in conformity with customer airline procedures and industry best practices. 
3.  Prepare Safety and Security review reports to senior management based on the company Safety & Security database/statistics as required. 
4.    Conduct periodic Safety & Security audits / inspections to determine whether the conduct of the operations is in compliance with the company procedures, with international and local Civil Aviation requirements and in conformity with customer airline procedures and industry best practices. 
5.    Train company personnel in Safety Management System and Aviation Security, as and when required, to promote the Safety & Security culture and leadership in the organization.

6.    Oversee and implement the Safety risk management system at the corporate and operational levels of the organization through leading investigations, assessing safety risks and performing data analysis. 
7. Prepare the Annual Audits and Inspections Schedule, review and develop the audit checklists to be in compliance with the international and local requirements and in conformity with the aviation industry standards and liaise with DCA and airport authorities on safety and security concerns. 
8.  Check the implementation status of corrective and preventive actions recommended and their effectiveness. 
9.  Act as a Lead Investigator of serious safety incidents / accidents and issue the investigation report, assist in investigations of minor and moderate safety incidents / accidents. 
10. Be aware of and adhere to the company Safety Compliance policy, Security policy and Health & Safety policy.

Experience

7 years' experience out of which minimum 5 years in Aviation industry. Must possess knowledge of the requirements of GCAA (General Civil Aviation Authority). 

A valid UAE driving license an advantage.
