Purpose of the Job

The purpose of this role is to conduct day to day maintenance and repair work with regards to all types of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Denting /Welding of body of equipments involved in accident
    • Fabricating small trolleys, sign boards , steel box, mounting brackets etc
      • To handle all doilies, trolleys and tow bar repair
        • Removing and fixing handles, locks , front windshield, door glass and other accessories related to equipment/Vehicle
          • Filling the job codes as performed
            • Mixing paints and thinner to suit the original colour of vehicle /equipment
              • To use spray gun and to smooth surface with sandpaper and steel wool, preparing stencils etc
                • Polishing final coat of paint and allow it for drying
                  • To receive oil repairable components , dismantling the component, measuring dimension and preparing new component
                    • To do overhauling work on the starter motors etcandafter the component are ready to test on the equipment for fittings.
                      • To handle all types of repair and maintenance of equipment and vehicles performs assigned unskilled and semiskilled task related to repair and maintenance work.
                        • Performs assigned repair works like Tubeless tyre repairing, Carburetor repairing, Brake system checking and repairing, Hydraulic jack repairing, clutch system repairing and replacing worn out tyres.
                          • Assists in the routine mechanical maintenance and repair works on light duty and heavy duty vehicles. Includes changing distributor points, cleaning carburetors, repairing adjusting or aligning breaks, replacing defective parts etc.
                            • To carry out the established preventive maintenance on engines and related equipment installed on vehicles. Includes changing oil filters, checking break pads, tightening controls, checking tyre pressure, Adjusting wheel alignment etc. Helps Technicians/Mechanics in holding heavy components while removing, helping to pull or push major assembly and re-fixing etc.
                              • Attends all related breakdown jobs whenever it is called for.
                                • Ordering spare part required if any and collecting it from the stores.

                                      Qualifications

                                      • Higher Secondary School Certificate / Graduate in any of the field.
                                        • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering along with electrical knowledge.

                                        Experience

                                        Minimum 4 yrs experience in the mechanical and electrical field
