Job Purpose
Designated by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) and as the Accountable Manager for AOC, Airline Aviation Medical Advisor (AAMA) is responsible to ensure that aviation personnel meet the medical standards as prescribed by PCAA and they are medicaly fit to perform their aviation duties. AMAA perform medical examinations, issue medical certificates and give aviation medical advice as necessary.
Key Result Responsibilities
- Perform all duties as the Accountable manager for AOC.
- Performs medical examination for Air Crew and Flight Operations Officers at the time of induction and revalidation.
- Conducts daily sick report consultation for cockpit and cabin crew, responsible for maintaining air crew fitness and routine vaccinations while exercising their license privileges.
- Carries out medical awareness for flying personnel to maintain their “Continued Medical Fitness” in line with flight safety requirements.
- Ensure that flight crew with restrictions of OML or waivers are not grouped together in pairs.
- Conduct pre and post flight daily alcohol breathalyzer check and random psychoactive drug testing of cabin and cockpit crew.
- Conducts aircraft inspection on regular basis inlcuding inspection of water cart, aircraft fumigation etc
- Summarizes Medical Flight services reports and provides inputs.
- Maintains record keeping of all the medicals and consultations along with timely PCAA intimation inlcuding aircrew sickness records.
- Conducts monthly Flight Kitchen visits and regular meal inspection to ensure that proper food is supplied to airline passengers and similar food items are not supplied to all crew members at the same time so that flight safety is not compromised.
- Validates Onboard Medical kits for aircraft use.
- Conducts indoctrinate awareness lectures to air crew.
- Coordinates with different departments of Fly Jinnah and PCAA
- Submits weekly and monthly reports to PCAA.
- Responsible to implement COVID-19 protocol precautions.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
- Degree or Honours (12+6 or equivalent) MBChB, MBBS, MD, or the equivalent medical degree from an accredited university medical school, as well as completion of vocational training in general practice is essential.
- Current medical registration with a recognized medical board or council is required along with qualifications and minimum experience acceptable to the Ministry of NHSR&C registration and licensing.
- An additional diploma in Aviation Medicine is required.
Work Experience
- A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in general practice is required.
- Previous experience working in an aviation medicine environment is essential.
- Membership to recognized medical councils is preferred.
