Special Note

This role will be based in Vienna, Austria and will be responsible for leading sales for Air Arabia. Eligible candidates must have excellent knowledge and relevant experience of Austrian Travel Market. Preference will be given to candidates having Airline/ Hospitality or OTA background.

Job Purpose

To manage the sales team in the assigned territory for Air Arabia Group, ensuring successful performance in sales and operations. Develops, executes strategy, action plans, and working procedures; drives the teams to achieve objectives by maximizing sales and enhancing profitability and brand’s visibility ensuring productivity is in line with set measures and company’s adopted policies and procedures.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies and plans to promote Air Arabia's services and increase revenue.
  • Analyzing market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and improve the airline's competitive positioning.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with travel agencies, corporate clients, and other partners to expand the customer base and secure business deals.
  • Collaborating with the revenue management team to optimize pricing and yield management strategies.
  • Leading and coordinating the commercial team's efforts to achieve sales targets and other key performance indicators.
  • Participating in contract negotiations with suppliers and partners to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the airline.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes that may impact the airline's commercial operations.
  • Representing Air Arabia at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the brand and explore potential opportunities.
  • Negotiates and acquires traffic rights and airport slots within assigned geographical area/territory.
  • Constantly reviews financial data to evaluate performance, identify shortages and determine root causes, recommend changes to RGM/ Director of Sales, Cargo, & Customer Relations Sales, and implement corrective measures.

Key Result Responsibilities - Continued

  • Develops, capitalizes on and maintains effective relationships with external parties of different nature such as government departments, ministries, civil aviation authorities, tourism, as well as agents and trade companies thus enhancing business and growing sales.
  • Analyzes factors like previous sales, market conditions, and customer needs affecting market trends to make suggestions during business plan formulation.
  • Provides direction, coaching & guidance to team members for their career & professional development.
  • Create a conducive working environment to build and sustain a performance driven, engaged, and committed team. 
  • Manages performance of direct reports through objective setting, continuous support, feedback, and formal reviews to ensure business objectives are met; Ensures conflict management, grievances handling, disciplinary issues are handled effectively in line with company procedures.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Bachelor Degree in Management, Commerce, Sales, Marketing or equivalent.
  • Additional qualification in Aviation/IATA/Tourism is a plus.
  • Proficient in computer applications and usage of Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Very good English verbal & written skills.

Work Experience

  • 7 years of extensive working experience in a similar role in the aviation industry with 3 years’ experience supervising/ managing a team.
  • Sustaining sales growth and profitability. Understanding market trends and translating them into effective customer solutions.
  • Advanced Sales and marketing skills and techniques.
  • Knowledge in developing/maintaining effective business relations, drafting and negotiating SLAs contracts.
  • Identifying pitfalls and recommending cost-effective solutions.
  • Cost-oriented, possesses effective persuasive, negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Sales and marketing skills and techniques.
  • Technical expertise, and interpersonal relations to support company’s objectives.
