Warranty Engineer - Sharjah

Job Purpose

To monitor all the aircraft technical procurement contracts and SLAs executed with OEMs/Vendors/MROs and implement respective originated warranties accordingly. 

Ensures all related contractual obligations are met and benefits accruing from claims are maximized, properly managed, and recorded as per GCAA regulations and Air Arabia policies and procedures.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Employs all potentials and explores all opportunities within the contracts to save cost and avoid expenses. Applies technical skills to carry out necessary analysis and verifications to achieve the maximum benefit from warranties.
  • Maintains a database of all components and services contracts with the corresponding warranties; constantly monitors the list of items in the unserviceable rooms to control the implementation of warranties or claims of the same as appropriate.
  • Works closely with engineers, monitors the performance of all procurement contracts and SLAs to ensure all contractual obligations are met to merit the warranty remedies and collect negotiated credits.
  • Negotiates with Airbus and OEMs on regular basis for better terms and benefits. Reviews the Commitment Letters to identify instances and initiate necessary actions.
  • Compares the list of components to the identified and agreed specifications; identifies exceptional cases which may result in special agreements with the manufacturer or supplier.
  • Monitors and follows up on the removal of the sensitive aircrafts components to ensure immediate action is taken for those requiring urgent warranty once removed.

Key Result Responsibilities - Continued

  • Prepares evidences and documents and provides to the concerned for warranties implementation; takes necessary photos of the components in the unserviceable room to support his/her case upon action.
  • Observes the on-wing inspection/rectification to build successful claims; engages in other workgroups whenever specific in-depth expertise is required to contest the declined warranty claims.
  • Coordinates with Finance on the settlement of claims as per adopted procedures. 
  • Identifies high-valued, frequently-utilized consumables that qualify for warranty remedies to be routed to U/S bay; constantly negotiates with suppliers to obtain FOC (Free of Charge) replacements.
  • Coordinates with the development engineers to scrutinize all new modifications affecting Air Arabia fleet to seek for possible commercial support from vendors on the same.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Bachelor degree in Aircraft Engineering/Aeronautical/Aerospace  Industrial/Mechanical or equivalent.
  • Warranty related certificates or training courses are considered a plus.
  • Project Management certificate or alternately the proven corresponding working experience.
  • Cost Control, Compliance, Budgeting and Quality Assurance certificates and trainings are an added value and some may be treated as conditional for this role.
  • Proficient in technology systems & tools; proficient in Microsoft suite, Advanced Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: reporting, presentations, etc.
  • Fluent in English Language.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in the Airline industry in a similar capacity handling aircraft warranties; has worked in close interaction with different functions such as Engineering/Maintenance & Finance.
  • Experienced in aircraft systems and components, Airbus A320 aircraft experience is highly desirable.
  • Possesses very good understanding of the functions and processes within Engineering & Maintenance.
  • Possesses appropriate knowledge of the GCAA and CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) necessary requirements.
  • Specialized industry knowledge in procurement, acquisitions, SLAs & Contracts management.
  • Persuasive, capable of handling negotiations of technical nature independently.
  • Demonstrates very good management, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Cost oriented, developed skills in financial analysis, cost-estimates and managing budget expenditure.
  • Exposure to Quality Assurance/Safety/Audit practices.
  • Experienced in implementing, policies, procedures as per regulations, business needs, and quality standards.
  • Experienced in working with a team of professionals (Engineers and Technicians).
