Tool Crib Controller

Job Purpose

To manage and control the Air Arabia “Tools Crib” inventory including receipt, storage, repair, calibration and release of all the tools and equipment used to service Air Arabia and Third Party aircrafts. 

 

Ensures all transactions are carried and recorded in accordance with Company’s policies and procedures and as per regulatory bodies’ rules and regulations.

Key Result Responsibilities

  1. Handles and maintains the “Tool Crib” stock level such as tool boxes, kits and equipment and the commercial stock items like rags, batteries, gloves, shoes, reflective jackets, etc.

 

  1. Ensures all tools and equipment are operational and available in place and on time for engineers/technicians to execute maintenance tasks and consequently to secure the availability and safe release of aircrafts.

 

  1. Issues daily tool boxes and kits based on the maintenance plans for Air Arabia and Third Party aircrafts routine and planned checks.

 

  1. Ensures all issued-un-used parts are credited back to stock system and returned to the “Tool Crib” as per Company’s procedures.

 

  1. Confirms by email to “Production Controller” the receipt of tools before the release of aircrafts to ensure safety measures.

 

  1. Updates the system to track and maintain a record of all issued and received tools on daily basis. Reports any damages, discrepancies or missing data to the “Supervisor Stores and Inventory”; prepares quarterly reports to highlight the stock level.

 

Key Result Responsibilities - Continued

  1. Ensures the tool crib conditions are maintained as per approved standards: correct storage, temperature and Humidity Control, safety and health conditions, risk hazards, etc.  Identifies errors and causes to ensure no-reoccurrence.

 

  1. Cleans tools and restores in place; identifies expired items and send for calibration and repair, maintains a record of all calibrated items accordingly.
  2. Coordinates with engineers to specify unserviceable tools; raises requests for replenishment and follow up with “Procurement Team” for tools & equipment.

 

  1. Provides ad-hoc tools and equipment support to both Air Arabia and Third Party aircrafts whenever needed.

 

  1. Supports the “Stores and Inventory Supervisor” in implementing and maintaining the safety measures, facilities adequacy and cleanliness, storage conditions and needs.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • High School/Diploma or certificate in a related field from a recognized institution combined with needed experience and exposure is acceptable; a bachelor degree in any discipline is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Very good communication skills (verbal, written) expressed in high level of accuracy.
  • Very good English Language.
  • UAE Driving License.

Work Experience

  • The ability to work in a rotating shift pattern.
  • 1-2 years of related working experience in a similar capacity within the aviation industry; experience with low cost airline is a plus.
  • Working experience on inventory soft-wares shall be treated as an advantage.
  • Has necessary working experience and exposure to GCAA rules and regulations pertaining to acceptance, storage and issuance of tools and equipment used for aircrafts maintenance.
  • Knowledge and completion of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations training will be an advantage.
  • Possesses a very good organizing and time management skills.
  • Proven skills in working with data and resources in a cost-effective manner.
  • Dependable, self-initiative, takes ownership, and displays energy and enthusiasm.
  • Multi-task oriented with high attention to details.
  • Capable of working hard and under pressure.
  • Physically fit and dynamic, capable of carrying heavy equipment and moving between stores.
