Technical Services Engineer - Aircraft Maintenance Programs

Job Purpose

To customize, develop and manage the“ Aircrafts Maintenance Program” needed for the continued airworthiness of the  of Air Arabia and 3rdParty aircrafts; sets standards and measures for the program that serve aircrafts’ optimization and cost reduction. Acts as an interface between internal departments and external providers.  Acts as a fundamental liaison role within the Airbus User AMP working group and participate in MSG Steering Group Meeting.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Manages the “Aircraft Maintenance Program” complete cycle to achieve the development of associated work scopes during the aircrafts’ delivery and re-delivery processes.
  • Supports the development engineers and maintenance teams (Line, Hangar, MCC) in all daily activities with regard to Aircraft Maintenance Program, this would include data collation, performance review, analysis of requests, management reporting and corrective measures. 
  • Ensures that the “Aircraft Maintenance Program” is designed, managed, developed and optimized as per Air Arabia’s operational needs and reliability program, and is always in compliance with the OEMs, (CAMO) Continuing Airworthiness Management Organizations’, and other regulatory bodies’ requirements.
  • Utilizes data gathered from different sources to conduct analysis, evaluate carried tasks, and decide on the efficiency of “Aircrafts Maintenance Program”.
  • Analyzes data and technical performance reports and trends, highlights findings to develop cost effective solutions and implement proactive changes.
  • Partners with the Planning Engineers to set programs into action and ensure optimized “AMP” and availability of Air Arabia fleet.
  • Reviews and evaluates work packages, tools and manpower utilization for aircrafts in line with the operational needs ensuring cost-effective maintenance planning is always achieved with no compromise on safety measures and standards.

Key Result Responsibilities - Continued

  • Represents the Company in the (Maintenance Review Board); works closely with the Reliability Engineer and the Quality Assurance to review the AMP and any recommendations done by the Manufacturer or Ads (Airworthiness Derivatives) done by EASA.
  • Ensures approved recommendations and ADs are introduced into the AMP timely and accurately.
  • Introduces and closely monitors the AMP for all new aircrafts ensuring necessary liaising with the Regulator for the approval on the same.
  • Supports the Head of Engineering in developing and improving the procedures and specifications associated with the “Aircrafts Maintenance Program” to achieve best results. 
  • Generates function-related reports to the management, cross-functional teams, and the regulatory bodies on the AMP; uses the utilization reports to adjust program and enhance its effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with Stakeholders, Regulators, Manufacturers, Customer Airlines and other external parties for regular meetings that foster the effectiveness and management of the AMP.
  •  Participates in function-related meetings and events both internally and externally.
  • Assists in preparation for the audit checks and reviews as well in the closure of occurrence reports and audit findings.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Bachelor degree in Aircraft/Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Aircraft Licence alternately a higher diploma or certificate in a relating field from a recognized university or engineering college combined with needed experience and exposure.
  • Training certificates or workshops on “Human Factor” and “Safety” are a must.
  • Training in Engineering Systems and MSG/3 is highly desirable.
  • Project Management, Cost Control, Compliance and Budgeting are an added value and some may be treated as conditional for this role.
  • Capable of using technology systems & tools; proficient in Microsoft suite, MRO systems and Web Search.
  • Excellent in written and verbal communication skills: reporting, presentations, etc.
  • Fluent in English Language.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years’ of collective experience in the Aviation industry; On the Job Training (OJT) or post university time spent at an Airline company as a Trainee or in a similar capacity shall be counted for as part of the experience; experience with Airbus 320 aircrafts is highly desirable.
  • Experienced in aircrafts airworthiness programs requirements and regulations, such as CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization).
  • Very good experience in aircraft maintenance programs systems, software and techniques and their relation to the Continued Airworthiness Program.
  • Familiar with rules and regulations of Civil Aviation Authorities, preferably GCAA, pertaining to the Engineering Maintenance, policies, procedures and manuals.
  • Experienced in designing, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures and operating manuals.
  • Exposure on the Maintenance Steering Group/3 meetings and discussions is preferred.
  • Experienced in measuring performance against regulations, contracts and SLAS of extreme technical nature.
  • Skilled in developing and enhancing maintenance programs to optimize productivity and minimize cost.
  • Has good exposure and training in the aircraft Reliability Programs.
  • Exposure to Quality Assurance /Safety/ Audit practices.
