Job Purpose

To develop and coordinate the Air Arabia Group Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and provide administrative support on daily activities within the Safety Department; coordinates and monitors the flow and maintenance of Company’s interdepartmental safety related communication, regulations, policies, manuals and documentation necessary to meet the operational needs.  He/she may deliver trainings and presentations whenever required ensuring that all safety measures are implemented, communicated, assessed and complied with at all times. 

Key Result Responsibilities

  1. Develops, implements and manages all facets of the Emergency Response Plan (ERP), ensuring compliance with all applicable laws/regulations and Company goals and objectives with the appropriate level of corporate preparedness. 

  1. Establishes, maintains and continuously updates a detailed “Emergency Response Program, ERP”, manual, checklists, and needed modifications to implement safety controls and minimize safety hazards. 

  1. Oversees and coordinates the Company’s emergency response in the event of an accident, natural disaster or other significant event. 

  1. Manages cross-departmental teams and acts as a liaison between departments to ensure emergency response preparedness and compliance. 

  1. Directs the research, review and evaluation of external source materials regarding airline emergency operations and assistance programs. 

  1. Designs and conducts emergency response exercises to train and rehearse all Air Arabia (assigned Hub) and other stations employees as well as other targeted companies’ staff on a wide variety of disaster contingencies. 

  1. Procures and caters necessary equipment and tools needed for conducting trainings ensuring proper communication and coordination are carried to facilitate successful trainings on regular basis and enforce the “Emergency Response Program”.

  1. Acts as liaison with external organisations such as third party service providers and industry groups on family assistance matters. 

  1. Coordinates between Air Arabia designated Medical center and respective Civil Aviation Authority for the Drug and Alcohol test for the flight sensitive staff.   

  1. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.  Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 

  1. Acts as the back up to the Flight Data Specialist regarding all aspects of Flight Data Monitoring. 

  1. Updation of the Risk Register on regular basis. 

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Diploma or certificate in the related field from a recognized university or institute combined with needed experience and exposure; Bachelor degree in Management/Aviation or equivalent is an advantage. 

  • “Safety”, “Emergency Response Program” training from accredited institution is an advantage. 

  • Professional membership of associations related to the Aviation/Airlines industry is a plus.  

  • Very good training design and delivery as well as public speaking skills. 

  • Compliance, Audit and Quality Assurance certificates and trainings are an added value for this role.  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Advanced Excel & Power Point.  

  • Very good command over written and verbal communication skills: reporting, presentations, etc. 

  • Fluent in English Language. 

Work Experience

  • 3+ years’ of experience in aviation safety, preferably with Emergency Response experience.  

  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.. 

  • Capable of designing, developing and delivering training programs and methodologies in the respective area of operation; basically “Emergency Response Program”. 

  • A balanced personality, composed, capable of dealing with threats and emergency cases with focus, analytical thinking, efficiency and commitment to successful safe results.  

  • Familiar with Quality Assurance / Internal & External Audit practices.  

  • High accuracy and attention to both results and details.  

  • Proven skills in analyzing data, identifying pitfalls and recommending effective solutions.  

  • Cost-oriented, possesses effective problem solving and decision making skills.  

  • Employs technical expertise, and interpersonal relations to support company’s objectives.  

  • Demonstrates the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against business strategy and set KPIs.
