Commercial Analyst

Job Purpose

Provides timely periodic/ ad-hoc reports and analysis on sales and revenue performance for all the hubs; trend, yield, seat factor revenue, etc.  Supports the commercial team in day-to-day activities including reporting, systems, database ensuring productivity is in line with set measures and company’s adopted policies and procedures.

Key Result Responsibilities

  1. Extracts/obtains data from different systems and channels to design reports to be utilized in analyzing flights and routes performance; identifies weak performing routes/flights to recommend and develop medium and long-term business plans that serve achieve the company’s strategy and objectives. 
  1. Produces, analyzes, and communicates reports to highlight Top Performing O&D (Origin and Destinations) based on given criteria and combinations such as (pax/yield or revenue).
  1. Contributes to the successful pricing of ticket fares on medium and long-term flights; conducts market researches, collates/maintains data on competitor fares, schedules and products.
  1. Analyzes and highlights the fare trend on the different routes using the available resources and tools such as the (QL2); ensures the resulting data are communicated to the revenue management team timely and as needed to assist them in the pricing process.
  1. Provides necessary business analysis support to various stakeholders including Head of Sales, Regional General Managers, Country Managers, and Revenue Optimization Executives, to enable them evaluate performance of the different destinations, identify trends, problems, failure and thereby, recommend potential corrective measures and alternate solutions.
  1. Employs his/her analytical skills to generate reports and comparison sheets based on the historical data and budget approved to capture/assess/and help predict the POS and O&D performance of the different routes.

  1. Provides necessary data and technical knowledge to all concerned parties in UAE and hubs to assist them in the budgeting process.
  1. Produces, analyzes and communicates to concerned parties the daily growth report for all hubs based on the data available in the system.
  1. Manages and maintain fare filing database for the GDS channel for all hubs.
  1. Assists in the schedules loading and season planning by liaising with the different cross-functional teams such as Network Planning and Strategy, Commercial Sales, Regional General Managers, Country Managers, etc.; provides accurate and reliable reports and data that supports the planning process.
  1. Partners with stakeholders to regularly review and evaluate the analytical reports from both systems (Accelaero, Maxaero, etc.) and structure aspects.
  1. Recommend, develops and implements best practices in design, structure and combinations that guarantee achieving targeted objectives.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Bachelor degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Finance or equivalent.
  • Capable of using technology systems and tools; proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet and Web Search, advanced level in Microsoft Excel (Macro).
  • Excellent financial, analytical and reporting skills.
  • Fluent in English (Arabic Language is a plus).

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of working experience in a similar role in revenue management or in an analytical role in commercial division in the aviation or hospitality industry, experience with low cost airline is an advantage.
  • Proven skills in analyzing data, identifying pitfalls and recommending cost-effective solutions.
  • Cost-oriented, accurate with attention to both details and results.
  • Employs a balance of technical expertise, and interpersonal relations to execute new initiatives that support company’s objectives and to generate reports based on resources obtained.
  • Capability of understanding market trends and financial data and channeling them leading to profitable initiatives in revenue management and pricing.
  • Demonstrates the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against business strategy and set KPIs.
