Finance Analyst

Job Purpose

Independently, prepares budgets, financial reports, financial analysis, PnL of new routes, airports benchmarks; interacts with internal and external parties such as vendors, departments, and auditors
Supervise the airports activity and assigned fuel activity, taxes update and ensures all transactions are as per agreed contracting terms and systems are updated timely and accurately. Manage and monitor Engineering projects, business cases, warranty, line maintenance aiming for bringing more efficiency and cost reduction in all finance related activities.

Key Result Responsibilities


1.    Verifies invoices related to line maintenance. Monitors, processes, and follows up the credit notes to receive from all vendors and communicate them to accounting team. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date data bases for all approved invoices, disputed cases and credit notes received / to be received 
2.    Coordinates with Accounting team to process the payments for the approved invoices
3.    Prepare quarterly statement of each Engineering supplier and deals with vendors / Engineering department to close pending credit notes / disputed costs and provide Accounting with the quarterly final statement 
4.    Conducts weekly analysis of Engineering activity and monthly reports on the Open items and inventory. Coordinates with the Engineering teams on any cancellations of orders and records the same accordingly.
5.    Maintains an updated database and excel sheets of Engineering and maintenance agreements terms, and cost 
6.    Conducts cost and invoice analysis; analyses rates in orders against previous purchases and agreed contracting terms.
7.    Identifies and researches trends/areas that require further review and analysis. Meets with Engineering team to discuss variations, ensures accuracy and proper interpretation of data and implementation of correctives actions 
8.    Follows up of projects related to Engineering and Maintenance activities: A-check, C-check, aircrafts painting and modification, ETLB, other projects … 
9.    Follows up of MR / Shop visit / return credit notes 
10.    Responsible of warranty credit notes follow up

Airports and fuel cost 
11.    Supervises the activity of airports and 50% of fuel invoices approval and data base. Responsible for review of airports and fuel quarterly statements of each provider and system update 
12.    Supervises airports taxes update and communication with stakeholders 
13.    Maintains an updated database and excel sheets of the fuel contracts terms, differential, fees for the concerned airports
14.    Partner of fuel tender process management 
15.    Coordination with Ground operations and fuel providers for contacts data creation and update
16.    Supervise fuel prices update on the system 

Route’s development 
17.     Performs comparison of airports benchmarks and prepares financial study/P&L for new routes
18.     Performs additional analysis or ad-hoc projections, business cases review and analysis as advised by the Line Manager

Budget, reportings 
19.    Prepares the monthly budget reporting of revenue, overflight, airports, business cost, training, and others Supervises Engineering budget reporting. Submits them to Line Manager for review by the 10th of each month. 
20.    Responsible of preparation of AOGs costs and significant disruptions and coordinate with Finance Analysis and cost control team.
21.    Prepares the airports, overflight yearly budget under the supervision of Line Manager
22.    Key partner for yearly budget process: preparation of historical data, budgets review, data analysis
23.    Supports the Stakeholders in budget preparation process as advised by Line Manager

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

-    Master’s degree in Accounting / Finance/ or equivalent from a recognized university/ business school. A bachelor’s degree combined with extensive experience and exposure is acceptable.
-    Capable of using technology systems and tools mainly finance related ones.
-    Proficient in Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, Power Point skills, Internet and Web Search. 
-    Cost Control and Auditing certificates and trainings are an added value and 
-    Fluent in English Language (other languages as per the Airline Hub requirements)

Work Experience

-    4+ years of comprehensive working experience in corporate finance or accounting in any industry, preferably for a company operating on regional/multinational level.
-    He/she must have worked in a mid-sized organization operating on a regional/multinational level, preferably in Airlines/Travel/Tourism industry; experience with low-cost airline would be an advantage.
-    Sound knowledge in accounting cycle, process flow and procedures is a pre-requisite.
-    Possesses comprehensive knowledge in accounting fundamentals 
-    Strong math and numerical reasoning ability and high accuracy are mandatory for this role.
-    Familiar with formalities and pre-requisites associated with internal and external audits.
-    Good level in a computerized accounting environment is essential.
-    Good financial, analytical and reporting skills.
-    Capable of meeting deadlines without compromising quality of outcome.
-    Proven skills in analyzing data, identifying irregularities and recommending corrective measures.
-    High attention to details, confidentiality, and ability to adhere to procedures and set measures are a must.
-    Cost-oriented, possesses effective negotiation and problem solving skills.
-    Ability to use a balance of technical expertise, and interpersonal relations to interact with senior level stakeholders and external providers to support company’s objectives.
-    Capable of working for long hours and under pressure. 
-    Demonstrates the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against business strategy and set KPIs.
