Job Purpose
Ensures delivery and management of costeffective and fit for purpose IT platforms to support the provision of technology based services to ISA and its clients
Takes accountability for the complete infrastructure and network and their operational management including those hosted within ISA data centers and or externally hosted or with cloud service providers. Ensures delivery of all IT operations and stability reliability and scalability of the IT environment within ISA
Key Result Responsibilities
Develops and implements an IT Infrastructure and operations strategy action plans policies and standards that aligns infrastructure requirements for capacity, operations, and security with the overall business needs
Develops and implements data & recovery strategy policies and procedures that ensure the consistency availability security and recovery of all data as per agreed standards and regulatory requirements
Plans reviews and approves preventative perfective and adaptive data recovery solutions to enhance availability of data minimize risks and protect the interests of ISA and its clients
Collaborates with stakeholders and clients to design and implement data recovery action plan aligned with business continuity plans ensuring cost effectiveness and agreement with business objectives
Sets and manages the data back up retrieval and recovery procedures to ensure proper utilization of tools and methodologies throughout the process and achieve timely successful results in case of incidents and disasters
Partners with stakeholders to test recovery procedures and contingency plans address exposure to risk and ensure that agreed levels of continuity are maintained
Manages internal and external infrastructure Network and DevOps technical experts and operations to deliver against the action plans
Overseas the data center to ensure all data of ISA and clients are properly managed secured and maintained including those hosted internally and or externally hosted or with cloud service providers
Sets necessary measures and standards to ensure all data is archived backedup protected and retrievable as per policy agreed measures and clients requirements and within agreed SLAs
Collaborates with line managers to identify and source for business requirements and manage the design and architecture of agreed specifications accordingly infrastructure connectivity hardware UAT testing etc ensuring adherence with ISA and clients standard measures
Develops policies and procedures sets KPIS and implements processes for monitoring measuring and continuous improvement of systems and applications
Categorizes information and communication systems by service tiers and ensures service levels and availability are committed to in relation to the tiers. Forecasts demand and capacity requirements for budget planning purposes.
Designs and implements the action plan for all IT Operations in collaboration with line managers and in alignment with business continuity plans and business objectives ensuring cost effectiveness.
Plans preventative perfective and adaptive maintenance of all IT operations ensuring risks associated with critical tier systems are prioritized for resolution ensures the technology components for ISA and its clients provide required level of stability reliability capacity flexibility scalability and continuity to meet business needs
Coordinates planning designing and testing of maintenance procedures and contingency plans to address exposure to risk and ensures that agreed levels of continuity are maintained Collaborates with the Governance team to ensure adherence to agreed security measures/regulations in all operations
Explores and assesses new and emerging hardware software and communication technologies methods and techniques recommends best practices to be adopted on all aspects of infrastructure computers storage network end points etc
Actively engages with technical experts and project managers to promote awareness and compliance with service transition quality plans and processes.
Key Result Responsibilities-Continued
Implements the release policy in the context of development production operations. Provides immediate solutions for problems and acts as the point of escalation in the operations to ensure no failure
Manages the configuration management system ensures that processes are in place for consistent classification management of CIs verification and audit of configuration records. Ensures that all changes to assets and services are accurately controlled and recorded
Negotiates contracts with external vendors and ensures they support the committed service level objectives. Verifies invoices in line with SLAs and coordinates with Finance for settlement of payments
Partners with HR to set objectives and identify KPIs for the respective team members ensures his her subordinates are fully aware and knowledgeable of their targets. Provides on going support and supervision to the team members to assist them achieve their goals and bridge any gaps identified
Advises other IT teams and business on application infrastructure related matters eg licensing backups disaster recovery etc
Analyzes metrics and reports on performance of systems and applications periodically. Ensures that problems in IT operations are anticipated investigated and resolved and reaches out for line managers support when needed
Conducts regular reviews and assessment for the function related work flow and operating procedures to enhance the process and maximize productivity
Performs any additional responsibilities as directed by Head of Department
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
Bachelors degree in computer engineering Information Technology Computer Science or equivalent
ITIL Certified
CCNP CCIE MCSE RHEL Certification
Strong knowledge in IaaS PaaS and SaaS based setups to manage vendors and service providers
Fluent in English Language
