Job Purpose:

 

To ensure the efficient and professional processing of passengers through ticketing, boarding and gate operations, facilitating timely departures and safeguarding airline/airport service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

 

1.  Flight & Gate Coordination

 

  • Monitor flight status (arrivals/departures/delays) and track gate assignments.
  • Make boarding announcements, issue delay or gate-change notifications.
  • Coordinate with airline operations, ramp, security and other teams to implement gate changes smoothly. 

2. Passenger Boarding & Document Verification

 

  • Supervise the boarding process at the gate: check boarding passes, verify passenger identity/eligibility, ensure correct flight boarding.
  • Manage standby and connecting passengers, ensure correct seating and boarding order.
  • Liaise with ramp agents, airline staff and security for safe and timely embarkation.

3. Special Assistance & Customer Support

 

  • Assist passengers who require special attention (elderly, disabled, unaccompanied minors, VIPs).
  • Provide necessary escorts or support to ensure these passengers board smoothly.
  • Handle passenger inquiries and keep passengers informed about changes, delays or disruptions.

4. Baggage Handling & Inter-department Liaison

 

  • Manage baggage drop-off and ensure correct tagging, handling and routing.
  • Liaise with baggage/cargo teams to ensure loading aligns with passenger check-in and boarding.
  • Monitor and escalate baggage irregularities or mismatches.

5. Documentation, Compliance & Shift Operations

 

  • Maintain operational documentation: passenger counts, boarding reports, incident or irregularity logs.
  • Ensure compliance with all airline, airport, safety and security procedures (including regulatory standards).

Work collaboratively with all relevant teams and be flexible in working shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends and public holidays. 

Dimensions:
Personal Qualities:

  • Bahraini nationals, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. ( Arabic and English)
  • Shift coverage & time-sensitivity: the role must support early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays to meet 24/7 operations.
  • Passenger volume & throughput: managing high volumes of passengers, ensuring minimal delays, efficient boarding and departures.
  • Compliance & safety responsibility: ensuring adherence to airline, airport and regulatory (e.g., International Air Transport Association / International Civil Aviation Organization) procedures.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in  any relevant field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 67 years of experience in airport ground operations, airline passenger services, ticketing/check-in or a related customer service role.
  • Familiarity with airline departure control systems (DCS), boarding gate systems, and/or baggage handling systems is an advantage.
  • Experience assisting passengers with special requirements (elderly, disabled, unaccompanied minors, VIPs) and managing irregular operations (delays, gate changes) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, in a 24/7 operational environment.
